Start of the InnoVET PLUS project Lernfabriken@BeruflicheBildung at KIT
Karlsruhe, September 12, 2024
The InnoVET PLUS project Lernfabriken@BeruflicheBildung is starting at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). The aim is the sustainable use of Learning Factories 4.0 for vocational training in order to teach urgently needed future skills in a practical way.
Learning Factories 4.0 are networked learning environments at vocational schools that depict real-life professional situations. They offer not only trainees but also skilled workers the opportunity to prepare for the challenges of digital transformation.
Prof. Windelband from KIT is leading the project and emphasizes
"In our project, we want to develop concrete practical models to enable the use of learning factories for further training and to fully exploit their potential."
Stefan Baron, Managing Director of AgenturQ, which is supported by Südwestmetall and IG Metall, emphasizes that Learning Factories 4.0 are an important addition to existing training courses and provide practical skills for the digital world of work.
Further goals of the project are
- Testing and further development of the practical models
- Linking with existing training platforms and networks
- Development of a university certificate "Learning factories for vocational training"
The project runs until December 31, 2027 and is jointly implemented by
- AgenturQ (project coordination)
- DISC, RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau
- IHK Center for Continuing Education GmbH Heilbronn
- KIT (project management)
- Nachwuchsstiftung Maschinenbau gGmbH
