Employ ID - Customizable & cost-effective enabling of professional identity transformation in public employment services
The European Public Employment Service, as a key player in achieving Europe's strategic goal of high-level employability at a time of economic turmoil and demographic change, is facing significant challenges. The growing demands on public servants have led to a need for professional identity transformation. In order to be successful in their work and to support their own and their clients' adaptability and resilience, they need to acquire a set of new transversal skills, develop additional competencies and establish a culture of continuous improvement.
Employ ID aims to support and enable the learning process of PES staff for professional identity development through the efficient use of technologies that provide advanced coaching, reflection, networking and learning support services. Based on learning theories from adult education, the project focuses on technological developments that make enabling services for professional identity transformation cost-effective and sustainable by empowering individuals and organizations to adopt transformative practices through a range of learning and enabling processes. These include:
E-coaching tools that make coaching processes more efficient and enable the development of coaching skills,
Tools for reflection and reflexivity that can be integrated into coaching processes,
novel networking and facilitation tools to support individuals to become effective facilitators of learning for others, and
adaptive scorecard visualizations as a form of workplace learning analysis, enriched in part with data collected from user activity and feedback.
Where appropriate, these new tools will be integrated into existing organizational learning and training infrastructures, such as existing learning management systems (LMS). Lessons learned from engagement with PES on identity transformation processes will also be disseminated across Europe through the development and delivery of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). Aspects relating to data protection are addressed conscientiously, using appropriate technical and organizational means.
