More safety in everyday working life: employee trained as a first aider

An employee in our department has successfully completed first aid training and is now available as a company first aider. In doing so, she is making an important contribution to safety in everyday working life and strengthening emergency preparedness within the department.

In the event of an accident or medical emergency, she is one of the first people to contact on site. She carries out immediate life-saving measures, provides first aid to the injured and looks after those affected until professional help arrives.

Their tasks also include regularly checking first aid materials and rescue equipment. This ensures that quick and effective help is available at all times in the event of an emergency.

Important information for employees in an emergency:

All employees are required to follow the internal emergency chain immediately in the event of accidents or acute medical emergencies. In particular, this includes immediately alerting the first aiders and - depending on the situation - the KIT internal rescue service 3333 or via the Europe-wide emergency number 112.

First aiders should be called as early as possible, as rapid first aid can be crucial. At the same time, it is important not to alter accident sites unnecessarily and, if possible, to calm and care for those affected until help arrives.

The first aid equipment in the buildings is accessible at all times at the designated locations and should be used in an emergency.

We ask all employees to regularly familiarize themselves with the notices on first aiders and the escape and rescue plans.

We would like to thank her for her commitment and her willingness to take responsibility for safety in the working environment.
